Assignment 11: Writing Prompt

I am taking my prompt straight from the assignment.

Is anyone else grumbling about having to do homework? I open my email and emit a groan. My upper lip curls. I sigh.

The last assignment is waiting in drafts until I return home to my laptop. There are several things I wish to rant about but I am lacking the time. There is a very good book that I am reading that I am desperate to finish because the whole story has been rather heartbreaking so far. I need to get to the end so I can either smile or cry.

Instead, I am enjoying a work-cation. We are helping my brother-in-law move into his new home. It feels really good to be doing something for someone else and I am happy with the progress we have made.

So tonight I can only leave you with some not so great photos of our festivities. We turned up the music, shut off the lights and used glow sticks to give ourselves a personal light show.

  1. I never would have thought to turn off the lights and have a show with glow sticks. Don’t be mad if I still this idea for my kids – even the tween should love it! I hope you continue to enjoy helping your brother-in-law move – and that you are able to finish your book!

    1. It certainly can be. Where would I be without my phone? It is generally tucked into my back pocket so I can feed my blogging obsession. I think I might join blogaholics anonymous…☺

        1. Haha! I believe it has been begun all ready…I just haven’t logged enough hours in to become a member. Who wants to admit how much screen time they are accumulating? On a side note: emoticons rock 😁😆😝✌

  2. “The Scarlet Letter”–one would think I’d have read it by now, out of the thousands of books I must have read in my lifetime so far!

  3. The brilliant product of a job well-done, a task completed (?), and an earned relaxation that no one else need witness fully. Amazing what color and light ( and music) can do for our souls. Uplifting higher those already uplifted from a selfless endeavor.

(I know, the deep end of the pool.) I like the photos, especially the last one.

I, too, am reading a book of which I can’t gauge the ending, a cry, or a smile with a thank heavens that turned out so! Considering the author, I think tragedy must strike once more…bah! I’ve only a small bit left.
