Tick tock, Tick tock
Shutup you damn clock
I know my time is slipping away
There is no need to remind me
Of the tasks lagging behind me
Of the work I put off from day-to-day
All those projects that need completing
Quick! Hurry! Summer is fleeting!
I try to keep my panic at bay
If you keep up your pestering
About the time I have been sequestering
I might just have to lock you away
Thank you, Shafali, for drawing the artistic prompt for your Creativity Carnival. I thoroughly enjoyed dipping my fingers into some poetry for this adventure and am looking forward to seeing where else your art will take me.
love the poem 🙂 very real sense of frustration and annoyance with both the ticking and falling behind with tasks – ‘sequestering’ is a fantastic word! Well done 🙂

Thanks! I debated wether or not sequestering would work, and after looking at the poem for hours, I decided it fit nicely. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Yes I imagine with whatever small amount of time you take off that half of yourself is all ready making new lesson plans? I am only assuming since you are so passionate about your work ☺

Did you write this? I love it!
I so wish I could write and understand poetry, I’m such a philistine.

I love it! It’s got the depth (or would height be a better word?) of emotion – it makes you expect the watch to actually shut up and slink away! Awesome take on the prompt!

Thank you Shafali! I must say I find writing prompts from pictures much more enticing than words. Thank you for drawing this and creating the carnival. I think I will like being part of the circus 😉
