Love your photos 🙂 Spiders are fascinating creatures. Can’t wait to see these webs on big screen rather than phone. Love the eeriness of some, effects of light on others. Wonderful! 😀
I really don’t like spiders but I appreciate that they are one of God’s wonderful creation. I’ve never seen this kind of pictures before so I think they are amazing!
Thank you! I wasn’t sure if I had seen them before either. Usually the grass is too tall and dense to enjoy walking through but it is has been rather dry here this year. It gave me an opportunity to look a little more closely at the ground. Interesting enough to mention-after the pasture was cut, the webs are still there! The mower doesn’t cut that low, it just rearranges their roof. ☺
I have to agree! Imagine having to spend hours rebuilding your house every time a wind gusted! The determination and perseverance is something to consider. ☺
Great photos. You have a gift indeed. I just took some photos with the intent of making some acrylic paintings but none of them came out as pretty as yours.
I sat in my girlfriends yard and we watched a huge spider spin her web for the night, it took about 4 hours….it was fascinating, it was one of the kind that rebuild everyday….amazing stamina……great pictures
That is amazing ☺ I never knew it could take so long, I have never actually watched one build before. Thank you for taking the time to comment and teach me something today, I appreciate it ☺
I love spider webs, so intricate and, like snowflakes, no two alike. I’ve watched spiders on our porch spin webs before. Very interesting. Saw one actually cocooning a moth once. It was morbid, and I really felt bad for the moth, but it was cool to watch. Great pics!
Thanks SOB ☺ I wondered if these ground spiders got dizzy when they spin their webs. Total tunnel vision, it must take loads of concentration. P.S. I love to watch them too.
Those are really wild. Like a funnel or something. Have you seen what kind of spider makes those? And while I find it fascinating to watch, and terrific photo material, I hate getting a face full of one while walking to my car in the dim morning light. Feel like its on me for an hour afterwards.
Haha! I get the same feeling whenever I walk through one of my gates☺ I did google ‘ground spiders’ but there are over 160 species. My daughter named one ‘mommy’ and another one ‘baby’ (it was smaller).
And let me know what you find ☺ It’s possible that I have seen them before, but I can’t remember. It has been unusually dry here and the grass hasn’t grown much.

I’ve watched about how powerful spider webs are and how these spiders are able to survive. I’m in awe!

Interesting nonetheless. I’ll have to look around for some around our fields.

We’re dry now too. But if I see one here I’ll take a pic

Thanks☺ And I am curious…there are spots where the grass is barely above my ankles here, there too?

Yeah. I haven’t mowed in almost two weeks. It’s getting a bit shaggy but still not in need of a mow. Hasn’t rained in over two weeks.
