If you have some extra patience
Could you please send some my way
My child just doesn’t understand
There are things I need to do today
I woke up an hour early
So I could get a head start
But she woke up early too
And blew my plans apart
She began to help with breakfast
A simple, daily chore
She cracked some eggs in a bowl
And dumped them on the floor
We took our efforts outside
To tidy up our lawn
One moment she was there
And the next moment – gone
And where would I find her?
But well beyond the trees
Up on the road, with the dogs
Acting just like the puppies
After that I had decided
That she should have a nap
I brought her inside the house
And snuggled her on my lap
I thought I had achieved success
When her eyes started closing
But then the damn phone rang
And it prevented her from dozing
The rest of my day was filled
With very similar events
Forgive me for complaining
I just really needed to vent!
Now she is tired and cranky
Clinging on to my knees
So if you have some extra patience
Could you send me some, please!
Writing 101: Day 14: Recreate a single day
She sure was a really really happy child…To have a mother like you.

Can I tell you, this is my life on the weekends? It is a wonderful exasperating ride and I wouldn’t change it for anything! Man though, Honestme363 got it right!!!! Check out her blog please!

I agree. I am a heavy duty mobile user, so it’s very important to me the app functions correctly! Like I said, I’ll strive to get to school early today and reblog!

Good work. A great little recounting also. But you missed the point (and then again, quite did not..) That was you, getting your doze of patience. Tribulation worketh patience. Yes, on that day, boy, were you schooled indeed. Like a good soldier, you were Johnny on the spot, present and accounted for. It will pay off. Such fortitude, you’ve implanted into the heart of that child. Your reward is in heaven, dear.

Listen, I should have put more emphasis on how beautiful the poem is. My comment sounded too much like a critique, but I know you would make allowances for me. Thanks after the facts. MAO

Sorry, my minions have used up my reserve of patients, but I give you virtual parent hugs.

God, I miss those days! I know it’s trying, and they seem to feed on finding your last nerve and tapping it. But, oh how I miss the days of them falling asleep on my chest, running to me with arms extended when in need, and watching them sleep at nap time instead of napping myself. This made me a bit melancholy, and weepy. I miss my boys being little boys. If I were younger, I’d convince my wife we needed more! 😊

Hahaha! We tell that to all our younger friends. If you’re thinking about a child, spend an afternoon with my banshees. It’d likely make that a fleeting thought. But seriously, I loved the “little” stage. They’ve all been cool in respects, but that 6 months-5 years old has by far been my favorite. Mine are 12 and two 10’s and I’m not looking forward to three brooding, smartassed, pissy attitudes. It’s coming whether I’m ready or not. So, yeah, I’d trade ya for a while. 😃
