A recent incident at work has left me in a bit of a daze this week. Worse yet, I can completely understand why my coworker has this impression of me. Still, it bothered me. Of all the words I would use to describe myself, I never considered ‘serious’ to be one of them.😦
I have been called serious so often in my school and college life, though I know for sure I am one of the most jolly guys around-so I can relate and I feel you should not care much!
Love and light ❤

Hi,
I know Michael and Claremary Sweeney. This was funny! Thanks for the chuckle on this Monday night. (Still Monday here in California.)
I’m Janice, Michael’s friend. You liked my comment on his site about still needing to improve in the area of patience. Thank you for liking my comment.
The “S” word–you know what I thought right? Serious! Too funny!
Nice to meet you.

It’s like when people start calling you mam? just kidding but I am sure it was just an observation about you being responsible!

Don’t let it affect you in any way. Most of the people, even my mother, calls me serious. I mean, I’m the most fun person I’ve ever met 😉
The thing is, people see only one side of you and they make an opinion. They even after seeing your other side they like to think the same way about you till the end. That’s just how people are. So chuck it and try to forget it.

I had that problem too, ‘seriously’…then a few good friends came along and taught me how to laugh, mostly at myself!!

A little bit of serious now and then shows people you’re not altogether wappy. But to be serious all the time’s just no ‘flippin’ fun at all… 😀

Thanks Cathy ☺ It did prompt me to ask my friends, who all hesitated before saying..’Not all the time.’ Makes me laugh now. But will definitely be keeping it in mind….happy Sunday! Hope you are having a great day!!

Certain moments call for being serious, but being too serious too much will bring ya down, at least me. I like to bring a little humor when things get too serious. Maybe inappropriate at times, but it breaks the tension at least. 😃

That’s a good point. And I guess it is at work and when it is busy, I adopt a very no-nonsense attitude so I can go home, on time. ☺ She was surprised that I cracked a joke that day ( we don’t work together very often). I was just shocked that she thought I was so serious. Made a point of being more playful this week because of it.!

Around our house we try to avoid what refer to as the “a” word (adult). I never want to take life too seriously. Fear it may lead to an early demise. 😃

I like that. I have been trying to regress back into my childhood since I turned 30. The other s word showed up here this morning…snow. off to make a little snowman before it melts. Happy Sunday!!

Ugh! I hope it’s not as bad a winter as last year. 😕

Haha! I think I say that every year! And yet, we have no real desire to move to a warmer climate.

We do. But it’ll have to wait a few years.

After the boys are gone? A warmer climate?

Bingo! Our climate in Kentucky isn’t too severe. But I don’t even like what winter we do get. Plus, there’s no saltwater in Kentucky. But we don’t want to uproot them from school and friends. But the plan is to move to the coast when the time is right.

Is your wife a water lover too?

She’s a coast lover, like me. As far as being on the water or in it, I think I’ve turned her on to it more over the years. She kayaks with me for sure but she not keen on surfing or playing in the waves. She has a fear of sharks, and since we do Ocracoke as our primary vacation spot, the rash of shark attacks there, and in the Outer Banks in general, this summer didn’t help matters. But, yes, we are of like mind in moving to the coast someday, at least for part of the year. We love out home, and would probably never give it up completely. But part of our souls long for the coast.

Wow! Shark attacks!? Brings new meaning to adventure seeker 😉 Do you take a course? ‘ what to do when a shark is eating you alive?’ 😁

Scream, flail, and try like hell to hit it in the nose. I’ve been in the water millions of times and never had an issue. One time while diving I saw one, but it really paid us no attention. I remember once when we were diving in Cozumel, when we got back to the dock, there were guys that had caught a shark. Had it hanging up from its tail fin, all the guys standing next to it having their picture taken. It was taller than all of them by at least a foot and when my wife saw that, she hurled, right there on the dock. She was like, “I can’t believe I was in the same water that shark was!” It kinda freaked her out.

Serious isn’t too bad, right? They probably meant it as a compliment..?

She was genuinely surprised because I cracked a joke. I was just a little shocked that she thought I was serious all of time. 😊 It’s probably isn’t a bad thing when you are at work. 😊 Thanks J mama.
