Have You Heard this Version?

I inserted a little poll at the end. Just curious, especially since everyone I have shown it to has said that it was new to them…

The Ballad of Eensy Weensy

The Eensy Weensy spider climbed up the waterspout

Down came the rain and washed poor Eensy out

Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain

So the Eensy Weensy spider climbed up the spout again

The spider climbed the spout and she gave a little cheer

I’m almost at the top and my journey’s end is near

Then she heard a clap of thunder and down came lots of rain

And both she and all her hopes went sadly down the drain

As she lay there at the bottom the poor spider felt quite done

But, as very often happens, after rain there came the sun

The Eensy Weensy Spider soon was warm and dry

So she headed for the spout again to have another try

The moral of this story is one I’m sure you know

If you don’t make it the first time then have another go

And take a little lesson from the spider in this song

If you’re at the bottom, you won’t stay there for long
